So to explain it in football terms… you know how if you punt the football dead center it goes straight, but if you hit it slightly to the left or right, the ball gets some spin and can curve some? What kageyama is trying to do is add backspin so the ball flies forward with backspin, such that the ball slows down to a stop right at the peak. Similar to an upward curve that stops in the air and falls straight down vertically.
