man when this movie came out this all I played for my niece she was 9 months old n she kept humming the part when Moana was a baby playing w the Ocean Spirit & at the end when she realizes it’s Te Ka who is Te Feti🥹 man she 7 now n man time flies cuz this movie came out couple months before she was born & every once a year since we watch it together

You probably got the weirdest version of the movie. So here's the thing, in some regions, Moana is called Vaiana, and in those regions, the voice acting also changes to reflect that, but somehow, you got a version of the movie where the voice acting says 'Moana', and the subtitles say 'Vaiana'.

I remember the opening song her dad sang gave such horrible sadness and chills cuz I was like “uhhhh did we just celebrate and like a conformity song…cuz that’s just messed up…” As for Moana’s song, always brought me to tears cuz it’s perfectly accurate to inside desperation and conflict 💜

The analogy of what happens when someone’s heart is broken was peak and the twist about Te Ka floored me! Like it’s not crazy to guess, but when watching, I got lost in the story so it felt very real to not have realized it sooner and I’m glad I didn’t.
