Here's a sneak peak at one of the landscape paintings Matteo used to crown/frame this month's feature map. We're drawing inspiration from the intersection of a few fields/disciplines that came together in the 18th and 19th centuries to give us a boost in knowledge production in a certain field. Can you guess what the map is going to be about? I'll be posting the map on Friday, so stay tuned!

In other news, we're now working on patching the map for the Spring, 2023 update. This update will have a handful (or maybe a little more than that...) new countries added to the map. All of them are justifiable/reflect previous areas that I overlooked, and I'm quite happy to add them, but I've decided to draw the line formally at this update for any more additions to the map.

In the future, I'll continue to patch the map and fix/update toponyms, but after this update, I will no longer be changing borders or adding other countries. We will have to accept that the map will always be representatively imperfect but, hopefully, adequate enough for honouring the diversity of our real world.

I'm also working on banking video content for the project. Hopefully I can get some videos out by the end of Spring or maybe early Summer, fingers crossed.
