The first Altera postcards have begun to arrive in mailboxes of supporters across the world. Last week, I sent these postcards from my home in Vancouver to addresses of recipients as far as Brazil, Kazakhstan, and Senegal, with the furthest being the Australian Capital Territory. Did you receive yours yet?

Not surprisingly, it looks like the postal service of Germany wins the award for being the most efficient and fastest postal service. So far, I have reports of people receiving their postcards from Germany, Spain, and eastern Canada. I am curious to know if you've received yours, so do let me know, either by commenting on this post or writing in Discord!

These postcards were part of the promotion for the launch of my project on Patreon in spring. They are written as if set in the world of Altera, with the real-world addresses of recipients being devised as corresponding places in Altera. It took a while to produce these cards, along with realistic postage, a physical postage killer rubber stamp, and culture-specific time stamp graphics, but I think most people will be more than satisfied by what they receive.

I'd like to do more promotions like this in the future, so be on the lookout for more opportunities to receive postcards from Altera!
