Hello everyone,

While working on the Mid September Update, a question for a poll has come to mind.

For those who have played the latest build, do you like the dominant girlfriend as she currently appears in the muscle scenes? Or would you prefer her to be tweaked?

For those who haven't played it yet, as currently written, she is a more megalomaniacal version of the default girlfriend who acts colder towards the player.

If everyone is enjoying the dominant personality as it is, then I'll continue writing her that way. But two possible directions to take her have come to mind.

One is to make her even colder and more directly cruel. She'd insult the player about his inferiority - increasingly harshly as she develops, and talk down on his achievements when he's superior.

The other that came to mind is a much kinder and more nurturing version. She'd be kind of similar to the schmo scenario girlfriend's personality - seeking ever greater power to protect the player. But she'd also be very dominant, taking control of every scene she's a part of.

Let me know what your thoughts are in the comments and by voting in the poll. Aiming to have the mid september update content fully completed by the end of next week, and the end of september update finished by the 31st.

I don't understand the point of a warm and kind but dominant girlfriend, these things are opposites. Either leave her as written or more cruel maybe but definitely not nice. We already have that with the other play modes. Let's go for a different experience instead of more of the same.

You're right that all three will be warm if the kind option wins, but it will still be quite different from the other two - she'll become a 'muscle mommy' type of character who bosses the player around in a way the other two don't. That said, currently over 90% want the Dom personality changed one way or th other, and both deviations are popular. If the Cruel variation ends up losing, a Cruel personality type will be an option for future content polls and could very well end up being a fourth in-game option if enough people want it.

The current Dominant GF sounds more like a Marvel supervillain than she does a dominant girlfriend. Cruelty and dominance have absolutely nothing to do with each other. But if you want to go that route, you could add a Dominance attribute. I'm not sure why there is a specific mode instead of an option in advanced settings. Example: In the default scenario the girlfriend's dominance will increase as she gets stronger. There will be an option in advanced to turn this off, and you can even link it to height and endurance if you want. In the True Schmo scenario, the same thing applies. But wait, I know you might be thinking: 'What if someone wants their GF to increase to around Level 20 Dominance and not Level 30?' Then add an option to cap it, or hell, let the user choose at the start. Multiple solutions. 'But the default mode already has the girlfriend become more dominant and rewriting that will take a lot of time?' This is what makes the current system especially stand out as goofy. It's clear that you have two of the same modes, one the actual dominance increase, and the other the "Evil Marvel character" mode. You could very well keep the default mode but just add the dominance stat so you won't have to rewrite everything from scratch but instead implement <> "Hey, do you think you could do the dishes for me?" she says.

While on the topic of criticism -- and this is a very small thing that no one else will notice (I will because editing is my job) -- you mispunctuate your dialogue a lot. I recommend looking up the dialogue rules: Dialogue Tags vs Action Tags/Action Beats. At times you punctuate dialogue tags with a period-- "Hey." she says. (Wrong) Correct: "Hey," she says. [This also applies to question marks and exclamation points.] "Hey!" she says. "Hey?" she says. --and at times you punctuate action tags with a comma. "Look at the moon," your girlfriend turns to look out the window. (Wrong). Correct: "Look at the moon." Your girlfriend turns to look out the window. --- All small things, but considering you've been writing for a long time, I felt I should shine some light on it.

The dominant GF as written in the released Alpha is more dominant than the other two. And yes, I agree that cruelty/kindness and dominance are two different personality axis, hence this poll. I've thought about solutions to this for a couple of years now, one of the ideas was a dominance stat. Ultimately flat out having multiple personalities is the easiest to code with the fewest points of failure. I also considered allowing the personality to be changed in the options--a possibility still on the table--but am currently leaning towards not doing so to encourage replaying the game.

Neat. I always thought you were supposed to just use commas/?/! in dialogue unless ending a sentence, but didn't know about this 'action vs dialogue tag' method.
