Content

Hey everyone,

As we approach the end of the month, I have to make an executive decision as whether or not to change the campaign to monthly (which would generate a pledge on August 1st).

One of the problems with a monthly campaign is getting frequent content to you guys, the supporters.  My original idea was to put out weekly/biweekly "mini updates" that you can just play; but the problem with that is the game can sometimes be entirely broken until I've fully implemented new mechanics.  And  the act of compiling, beta testing, and deploying a new update is fairly time intensive.  Plus, if the weekly update is merely a handful of new descriptions, that'd require you to play through the game (or mess around in the debug room) for a while just to read that content.

But you understandably deserve new content on a regular basis in a monthly campaign.

So, a pretty elegant solution occurred to me:  what if I simply release text files on here every 1-2 weeks with upcoming descriptions and whatnot?

Whether you read them or not is entirely up to you.  They would serve as a spoiler, which might be more enjoyable to uncover through regular gameplay.  But for people who don't care that much, just reading the descriptions alone might be just as good - if not better.

So, let me know if this is something you're interested in.  If it is, then I'll probably release the first 'text file' post for $10+ pledgers in a few days, and set the campaign to monthly.   If it isn't then no problem - just vote in the poll!

Thanks for all of your support, and hope you enjoy everything to come

- Magnus

(Please note this would NOT remove any existing rewards - it'd simply add more to the $10+ tier)

Personally, I'd prefer to keep things via Updates. I'd probably have to stop support if it went monthly. Too many Patreons already. O_o

I was aiming to get to an update a month to be honest. You can always stagger the months you pledge if needed =)

I love that you will be doing monthly updates, but maybe another benefit would be more worthwhile, like source code access? That way we could even help make the game playable. Also using version control makes it easy to selectively publish features and not worry about breaking stuff that is half finished.

The game is effectively already totally open ‒ there's no protection in Twine, anyone can open it in any Twine editor at any time =)
