They only have one containment pod so there was only one place they could put them in transport. They don’t know the full capabilities of these things and have only seen them do the crystal thing when they are dead/dying. So that was unexpected for them. The knives wouldn’t work either because you are not trying to get close to them once they started doing that.

Yeah, we, as the viewers, know more about the Shrike than the AoS do and we know next to nothing. ;-) For the team, them heading towards each other fits that earlier idea that they were just headed to the same destination, planetary ley lines. That's what I though also. I thought it was a pretty good catch for Juli, but it's not an obvious assumption, especially for the agents.

On this second viewing (watching this reaction), I said, "WAIT! Is that woman who saved FitzSimmons 'The Monster'??" She said something valuable was taken from her and it's on Earth, so... It better not be something like Sarge's ex-wife and that's why he calls her a monster. xD OOH! The "valuable artifacts" stolen from her, could they be the monoliths?

The butterfly girl is called Snowflake. Big guy is Jaco (when he said he came from a family of bakers, I said, "I KNEW I liked him!"). The smaller talker is Pax.

Technically, the containment unit did not stop Ghost Rider. He broke out of it and was the first being to ever do that.
