its so stupid that matt said "the old elena wouldn't have left Jeremy with damon" because in 1x07 elena did leave Jeremy and damon alone when she asked damon to compel him to forget about vicki and at that point she had even less reasons to trust him. This whole "The old elena would have done this" argument is so annoying, there's no old elena and new elena. She's literally the same person. Her friends need to stop making her feel guilty all the time.

Right Elena has already had to deal with the "new Elena" and "all the more reasons you need to cure her" from Stefan and Caroline now add MATT of all people? He's supposed to be the one who reasons with her not condemn her for trusting Damon....Have they forgotten had it not been for Damon half of the characters wouldn't be alive at this point? Flashback to 1x17 when Damon went in a house full of tomb vampires way older/stronger than he was just to rescue Stefan....He put all of his issues with his brother to the side in order to SAVE him or how in 2x20 Damon saved Caroline AND Tyler from Klaus's ritual and even took a werewolf bite for Caroline and almost lost his life and Elena in the process or how in 3x14 Damon kicked Kol's ass after Kol tried to kill Matt and broke his hand...And this isn't half of what Damon has done for the Mystic Falls crew....Damon has been Elena's constant so there should be no doubt as into why she would trust him.....Damon has always kept Elena's best interests at heart even if he screwed up from time to time.

elena has no reason to trust rebekah because she is the one who caused matt to drive off wickery bridge, she's also done some pretty horrible things to the people she cares about i mean just last episode she had tyler compelled to turn into a werewolf and go after all of them. And also the last time her and stefan spent a lot of time together was in the 20s during which Stefan had his humanity off and did a lot of bad things. Elena is worried about stefan because rebekah has never been a good influence on him. She's not playing with him, she just wants what is best for him and she's worried that by being with Rebekah he may revert back into his old ways and because elena still cares about him, she doesn't want that to happen.

Yeah I really agree, I really think Juli needs to stop saying Elena is playing with the both of them. In no way whatsoever is Elena doing that. I mean if he hooked up with Caroline, obviously she would be shocked but she would adapt and not care and be happy for them. Of course she wants Stefan to be happy and she knows she can't do that and after everything Rebekah has done, there is no way she's gonna think Rebekah could do that. But obviously Juli loves Rebekah and wants her to be happy, which I don't mind, but I just don't think she should say Elena is playing with them. Sorry for writing so much.

Juli, the books that TVD is based on has the sirebond with Damon and Elena in the story. The writers of TVD take a lot of material from the books and rehash it differently in the show.
