PERHAPS A RETIRE ON MSTR WOULD BE A FUN MATH EXCERCISE????
I have noticed a lot of relative strength of MicroStrategy versus bitcoin over the last couple of months now we know why. I have a feeling people are using it as a proxy for bitcoin. Just look at the players who are buying and look at how much they are buying.
Model above is ARBCLOUD - shows you when to pair trade between MSTR and BTC like clockwork.
Considering there's no ETF in the US, buying MSTR is the easiest way for some US investors to get exposure to the price of BTC.
For those of you who are Bearish look what the smart money is doing.
In the first quarter of 2023, Bank of America (BOA) increased its exposure to MicroStrategy (MSTR) by 47,800%. This is a significant increase, and it suggests that BOA is bullish on Bitcoin.
BOA is the second largest bank in the United States, with a market capitalization of $233 billion and over $3 trillion in assets under management (AUM). Its decision to increase its exposure to MSTR is a sign that institutional investors are becoming more interested in Bitcoin.
BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager with over $10 trillion in AUM, is also quietly investing in Bitcoin. In March 2022, BlackRock filed a patent for a system that would allow investors to trade Bitcoin futures contracts. This suggests that BlackRock is planning to offer Bitcoin exposure to its clients.
Fidelity Investments, a global asset manager with over $4.5 trillion in assets under management (AUM), has increased its exposure to MicroStrategy (MSTR) by 28,000%. Fidelity now has a 1% stake in MSTR, which is the largest Bitcoin holding by any publicly traded company.
This move by Fidelity is a sign of growing institutional interest in Bitcoin. Other large institutions, such as BlackRock and JPMorgan Chase, have also recently increased their exposure to Bitcoin. This suggests that there is a growing appetite for Bitcoin exposure among institutional investors, not just in the United States, but around the world.
The increase in institutional interest in Bitcoin is a positive development for the cryptocurrency. It suggests that Bitcoin is becoming more mainstream and that it is being seen as a legitimate investment asset. This could help to drive the price of Bitcoin higher in the future.
