A crypto hackathon is an event where developers, designers, and other interested individuals come together to collaborate on building projects related to blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.

During a hackathon, participants typically work in teams to create new applications, tools, or services that utilize blockchain technology or cryptocurrencies in some way. These projects may include anything from creating new decentralized apps (dApps) or smart contracts to developing new wallets, payment solutions, or trading tools for cryptocurrencies.

The main goal of a crypto hackathon is to encourage innovation and creative problem-solving in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space. Participants are often given a specific challenge or theme to work around and are given a set amount of time to complete their projects. At the end of the hackathon, a panel of judges evaluates the projects based on factors such as creativity, feasibility, and potential impact.

Crypto hackathons are popular events in the blockchain and cryptocurrency community, and many are sponsored by companies or organizations in the industry. They offer a great opportunity for individuals to network, learn from other professionals, and showcase their skills in the field. Some hackathons also offer prizes, such as cash or cryptocurrency, to the winning teams as a way to incentivize participation and reward innovation.

I’m currently at ETHDenver in the US and this is final day of hackathon and I still think most participants are non-US devs. I love seeing people from communities that need crypto for more than capital gains building, necessity is the mother of invention!

English isn't my mother tongue, so the verb, accrued, might not have been the right choice, I realised afterwards. But you know what I mean.

This is GREAT! Now we need USA to step up and not be left in the dust. Hackathons are enormously important for use case and growth of the space. Hopefully these will be done regularly.
