- Just a beautiful singing from Hyolyn. Not much more you can say here. - On the subject of Lovelyz, Mijoo had her solo debut last week with the song Movie Star. - I'm looking forward to Kei on Queendom Puzzle. I'm sure she is a strong contender to take one of the final group spots. - Well, I mean, it was often the new groups that go on to showcase themselves and help get some recognition, especially those that were from the mid-tier companies. - Lovelyz followed the standard pattern of groups from their time. Start with cute and upbeat title tracks and then over time go to a slightly more mature sound. - With Yeonjung there, this was probably 6 to 12 months after their debut. - At the start, Cheng Xiao, who had the dance solo, was the most popular member and she was everywhere. She actually did a show about celebrities joining the ballet. She also won gold at the Idol Star Athletics competition for rhythmic gymnastics. She is still fairly popular in China where she keeps busy acting and being on various competition shows, especially dance shows. She also has released some Chinese song, and this week released an English song (but only on Chinese platforms). - Here is one of her recent dance performances from a show where celebs team up with dance crews: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vORLleBfd6E - Dayoung is probably the one who looks the most different. - Exy certainly has been around. She did Unpretty Rapstar before WJSN made their debut. - That is Yeonjung. She wasn't actually originally part of the group since she was active with IOI at the time (though she started promoting with WJSN before IOI ended). - Gain is certainly comfortable with herself. - When I saw the song title, I thought it was a Uhm Jung-Hwa song, and sure enough there she is. - Brown Eyed Girls is her group. - I think have mentioned Koyote, which is Kim Jong Min's group before. Nowadays he is largely a variety show star, known for being funny but not always that bright. Before all that he was a backup dancer for Uhm Jung-Hwa. When they were filming all the Refund Sisters stuff on Hangout With Yoo, he was brought on to be one of their managers due to his connection to her. So this is really a case of "he still has it" as he was performing his old role for Gain. - You got it, she was on Refund Sisters, but not Lee Hyori. - Oh man, Festival. As soon as the song really kicked in memories of the song came rushing back (even though I would have only heard from watching various variety shows). I'm going to assume it is a very iconic song. - I think that was just a random audience member. - It is really nice seeing Choa as part of AoA. She is the one with the short blonde hair. She was the original main vocalist but left before Queendom (which they did discuss on the show) and for a while left the business completely behind but returned maybe two years ago. I know she has at least one appearance on Immortal Songs after she returned and has put out at least one song (and of course put out OST songs). - Looking it up, it was a two-part special, so Gain and AoA were on the first episode while Seventeen ended up in the second episode. - I agree it feels like their own song. I don't know if it is a song I already know or not. - They did not win this episode. I did see Chungha was on this episode as well. - The last two songs were really fun.

Hyolyn killed it on this one, so elegant yet powerful - i actually have the Movie Star in my "maybe" list for the next recording session, i didnt realize who it was, i just saw a new MV come out - i guess it makes sense for younger groups to be on the show, now that you mention that pov... it would be a good way for ppl to get to know you in general - It always sucks to see someone you love in music leave the industry, but at the same time you want them to be happy... its bittersweet.. its cool that she went that way of dance, it seems like a lot of idols leave for acting - that dance crew thing was great... i like how its both bright and dark at the same time even with a lil tribal flavor thrown in - Dayoung does look a lot different... its fun when you know a group later in their career then you see them when they were younger - ok that makes sense on how/why he got such loud applause, he did great with Gain, but i see now its because he was showing he still has it - i only know a couple songs from both Lee Hyori and Uhm Jung Hwa, but i can understand why they are as known as they are and deservidly so - i didnt even realize that CHungha did the show, i looked thru the wiki, but i think since the list is so long i must have spaced out for a couple of scrolls or something lol
