- Funny thing is Lee Young Ji did a song called Witch during SMTM11 too. - I'm assuming you are referring to KARD's Jiwoo when asking who was singing at the moment. - Well, not all of them. Just the 3 idols, which makes sense. - Hyoyeon was afraid to perform during this round since she didn't want to risk losing to idols who are junior to her. They did however manage to beat the rookie boy group. - Witch and Barbie are certainly the iconic songs from this show for me. When I think of the show they are the ones I think of first. - I do believe it is 5 members + 1 Fandom. Of course, by the time that this episode aired they were down to 4 members. If you noticed when one of the rappers was doing his parts, they switched to shots not showing him (either the other members or back shots). He got a DUI between the filming of the episode and it airing so they cut him out of the show as much as possible (which led to a funny moment of one of them saying something like "It is going to be these 5 vs these 5?" but the graphic on the screen only showed the four other members. - You never know what you are going to get with Mommy Son. - I didn't realize Wonstein had a new song. I should check it out. - So funny thing about the previews for this episode is that they blurred out all the SMTM rappers, but it is painfully obvious with Mommy Son. - Honestly, everything with Mommy Son during these two episodes was funny. Towards the end when they were doing the end reveal, there was a part where the host called him by his real name and then everyone laughed because he responded despite the fact that he was supposed to be Mommy Son at the point. He also at one point made a reference to someone changing since SMTM2 and then said he shouldn't have said that (since again, he wasn't there as Mad Clown). - Lee Hi's song and Beautiful Noise's Sleep Exhibition are the songs I know you have seen with Wonstein. I don't think he has done anything with Bibi, but he has worked with Epik High with the song Super Rare. - Check out the first part of this video for their interaction when they go to the waiting room together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MutYe8YmFZU - Yeeun has a performance of this because she got invited to do it on MNet. - Yeeun talked about how she kept doing dark concepts on the show and wanted to do something that Mommy Son couldn't match so went with a very bright concept. - And yeah, very catchy. - After taking the idol round off, Young Ji is back to kill it again for the SMTM round. - I don't think they have worked together since. - Nafla and Loopy. They were the winner and runner-up of SMTM7. - I'm not sure if the bandan was supposed to be a reference to Lee Youngji because I don't know if she had become known for that yet. I'm pretty sure someone did dress themselves up like that during the diss round of SMTM when they were facing off against her. - This was during the height of COVID so they couldn't do full crowds. I know there were celebrities in the crowds for each of the rounds. - Rhythm Power is a trio of rappers, all of which have performed on SMTM. Hangzoo won SMTM6, while Boi B had a deep run on 5. I'm not totally sure about how well Geegooin did. - Comparing Ailee and Wheein is funny since they were part of the same company (but Ailee left recently). - Yeah, Lee Young Ji can be loud. I think she has said she has trouble keeping up with herself when she is "On". - Only the finale songs to go, which will just be the Good Girls themselves (not counting features). 6 performances so I will let you figure out how that works.

Yes! i really like Witch by her too, i like Jay Parks' part and even how Soyoon comes in and instantly changes the pace of it all - yeah i put two and two together that it was Jiwoo when i saw her again on the final performance of ep7, i also just checked out the new Kard song, while i think its my favorite one from them so far, i dont see it sticking with me. I love the idea of a coed group, but i dont like the guys' rap style and the amount of vocal effects they all use.. but i can understand why ppl like them, its just not for me - i thought the barbie song was fun, i was a lil worried going into lol and witch was great, i think they all shined on it, even tho i love collabs sometimes when you get too many ppl on one song someone could end up messing up the flow type thing if not done right, but they all did fantastic - oh damn that sucks one got a dui and got edited out, i didnt even notice at first, but ill check it out again. Did he get removed from the group entirely? - i wasnt a fan of the Mommy Son performance, but is that Seungmin from stray kids? I tried looking it up but its hard to tell since i dont really know him that well - lol it would be hard to hide the bright pink mask - the whole mad clown/mommy son thing seems fun, like an inside joke for the fans type thing, and its nice to see someone lean into it and not take too overly serious - maybe i just think of bibi when i think of wonstein since they both kinda have a chill but mature vibe about them, granted i only know a few things by him - i love the awkward air between them in the waiting room, and how he makes it seem like he is being generous with the later stage when he really doesnt want it... sometimes keeping your cards hidden can help in a competition - she for sure pulled off the very brightness of it all - Thats a shame Youngji and Yunhway dont have more songs together, i t hought this performance was awesome and they fit really well together - i thought the Nafia and Loopy were cool, but im not as sure on the Rhythm Power, some aspects were cool, but after rewatching i started to feel like they are just yelling a lot of the times and i know they are trying to bring up energy, but it kinda feels like energy with no substance (if that makes any sense lmao) - i dont think ailee and wheein nesc sound alike, but they just seem to have the same kind of vibe to them, both multi talented with a sweet tooth for RnB, kinda artsy and shy but can show some attitude when needed - im looking forward to checking out the last episode of performances, there has been a lot of great ones so far from the season

also it looks like Yeeun just put out a new video for a song called Cherry Coke, kinda has a minimal feel but it does fell a lil sassy lol

- I personally prefer some of their older songs to Kard's latest song. It is fine, but nothing amazing to me. I knew you didn't care for them so I wasn't going to bring the song up. - Yeah, he was an ex-member by the time the episode aired and MNet did the pretty standard practice of editing someone who gets accused of a crime out of a show. It is a lot easier to spot what they are doing with the broadcast version compared to the full version since you barely see him at all in the other version. - Kim Seungmin that appeared here is a rapper that was under Beautiful Noise until recently (I don't know when he left but he was also on Sleep Exhibition). - The weirdest part of the Mommy Son/Mad Clown thing is that they are under different labels since Mommy Son has his own, while Mad Clown is part of another label. But interviews, where it is brought up, are always funny. - Speaking of Bibi, did you check out her new CF MV that came out last week? I Am (Not to be confused with the Ive song of the same name that just came out). - I think Mommy Son was actually being nice and didn't really care, but when they interviewed he decided to make it funny (which helps both of them get a bit more air time). - Oh, in the SMTM round, the Good Girls picked which match-up they wanted to without knowing who else wanted to go for it. Yeeun ended up by the only one who put her name in the hat to face off against Mommy Son. The other members suggested that she probably had a plan on what she wanted to do, and then it cuts to Yeeun randomly picking between the match-ups (and then changing her mind a few times). - Yeeun certainly showed that she has a pretty versatile range of music she can do. - I have mostly enjoyed what little I have seen from all of the rappers showcased here. Rhythm Power had a great performance all together during SMTM5. - Yeah, Yeeun's new song came out. I'm trying to like it, but it just feels odd to me.

So I checked out Yeeun's performance from Music Bank today which doesn't allow reference to brands (so groups either have to change the lyrics or not perform). The song was called Cherry Tok instead.

I want to like kard so much.. I hope another coed group comes out that is also good quality so we can start getting options in this field - it's so crazy to me how fast ppl get cancelled in the idol world.. I get that there should be punishment but to take away the chance to pursue your dreams that you have worked for your whole life is pretty shitty... - ok so it's not the guy from skz.. that's good lol - I think mommy son seems like a fun guy and self aware, it's cool to just lean into weird things like this - I did check out Bibi's new song, I think it's cool but I need to listen a couple more times to see if it will stick - it's cool that she picked to go against mommy son, knowing the person you are facing especially if they have a known style, you can use that info - I think Yeeuns new song is cool, when I get off work tonight I'll check out Cherry Tok lol

- It is Korea as a whole that has that problem, but it can be most devastating for idols since it takes someone special to be able to come back from leaving your group to having to debut solo after a year or two (the normal period where people with "bigger" scandals are expected to be reflecting on their actions). - Some of the scandals that trigger this are so silly. One was because two guys were making casual bets with each other while playing golf in another country, so they step down from all of their shows. Then there was Hong Jin Young, who got in trouble because the standards for PhDs in Korea changed after she graduated (she was accused of plagiarism 10 years after she graduated). So she had to return her degree and step away for a little more than a year. - It is good for a CF song, but I don't know if it is quite up to the quality of Bibi's other songs. - Literally, the only difference between Cherry Coke and Cherry Tok is her saying Tok instead of Tik. I found the removal of name brands in songs funny, though the inclusion of them is funny too.

I've noticed that Korea seems to go very strict on bullying and cancelling(ironically almost to the point that the "righteous ppl" are the bully's. I think that if you are going to be a role model it needs to be taken seriously but mistakes happen - that is crazy that just a bet with a friend turns into lost career, and I seriously believe that if you nitpick anyone enough you'll find cancellable shit, everyone has secrets - what does CF mean? Company funded or something like that? I love Bibi and a few of her songs, but Chris is a bigger fan of her music and knows more from her. I like her personality and her recent music mainly. But I also like all the ppl she associates herself with - I watched that performance after you mentioned it, the song is growing on me more, I like how it's Lowkey rap then a random word just sung out like a diva lol

- CF = commercial film. The MV is a shampoo ad for the Just As I Am brand. - Yeah, the song is growing on me too.
