WIPS - Cagebird Blues set design (Patreon)

a work in progress of some set designs for my pitch bible, cagebird blues! These will be colored eventually, but, I am a busy bee with 4 studio classes so the coloring of this will just have to wait.

Here, we see two important set locations - Armani's rooftop aviary and Isaac's bakery.

Armani is usually confined to his lavish penthouse, with all his needs cared for him in a lap of luxury. However, he is often forcibly isolated in his condo at the behest of his parents. On his rooftop garden, contains a gorgeous tropical aviary where Armani's pet birds resides. As a way to cope with his isolation and lack of freedom, he spends many hours alone in his aviary, with his pet birds as company.

Isaac is the recent owner of a small, quaint bagel deli named Barber's Bagels. originally owned by his father, Isaac became the new owner after his elderly father passed away. Living in an apartment complex just a few floors above Barber's Bagels (and a few above his elderly, dependent mother's flat), Isaac is quite the homebody and doesn't stray much from his neighborhood.

the small, unassuming nature of Barber's Bagels is exactly what lures a desperate Armani to escape the confines of his home without bodyguards. Because he is only able to sneak out in very early mornings, he shows up at 6 am sharp every weekend and orders the same thing.. Iced black coffee and a poppyseed bagel. Though he and Isaac have pleasant conversations and connections, he leaves just before the cold new york fog rises, not to be seen until next time.

Deciding to make these public because I am quite excited to share more about this pitch! If I have the time, A treatment will be made in case anyone wants to read my beginning, middle, and end idea. Though theres no concrete way I want to present this, maybe a few test panel comics will come... eventually. for now, enjoy the concepts!
