A BRILLIANT SET UP FOR PART TWO!! This was a well paced, slow building game of chess. Choices were made and strategies devised that have me mildly conflicted and massively anticipating the next episode.

There was a longer "previously on" section because the season had been broken up into two sections of ten, so in a pre streaming world it was thought best to give us a really big reminder of what had happened before the break. This week sets so much up for next week so I'm really looking forward to your reaction!

Charity Konusser (the chonus)

I love that Laura Roslin has proven to be more ruthless and logic-driven in her role as president, and that Adama has been proven to be more thoughtful and open to suggestions as fleet commander, than either of them would ever have believed of the other at the beginning of the show. Perhaps Roslin's knowledge of how little time she has left propelled her to "cut through" everything else and tell Adama to have Cain murdered. Commander Adama, military leader and war veteran, is clearly disconcerted by this ("Has the whole world gone mad?"), while Roslin, previously the soft-spoken Secretary of Education who was wildly out of her depth, is straightforward and practical. It's a clever twist to their character arcs from what our preconceived notions were for both of them. We have a bit of a continuity wrinkle, as Cain asks if Roslin and Adama have been sitting around debating laws for the past "six months," but this episode should take place only three months after the attack on the Colonies. I believe this new timeline is now what we run on going forward, but it's just a weird mistake? choice? I don't know for certain. Someone who has listened to all of the podcasts might know more.

That makes so much sense. The amount of time between mid season really was something else. Ok listen, I ended up watching part 2 today because my week got all weird and WOW. That’s all I can say, but I had a new reaction moment and I can’t wait to share.
