WHAT?! I went into this expecting it to be good. I had no idea it would be GREAT, right off the bat! I’m so impressed with how this miniseries started. The complexity, the characters, the cost. The stakes were so high and you really felt the weight of this. I can’t wait to continue watching this with you.

I'm late to the party, but I wanted to add that you are asking all the right questions. This is the kind of show that will provide answers to just about everything you were asking. It just takes time.

Little later to this party but wanted to note that w/ regards to 6 killing that baby as cementing evil. One thing I'd like to note is just how painful dying of radiation poisoning is and generally the suffering that people who survive a nuclear bombardment with no help coming face. Cemented as evil perhaps or cruel mercy knowing what's coming.

Yes, hindsight it does seem likely it was a (twisted) act of mercy from her perspective. This I think is the first true glimpse of the psychology of the cylons which is one of the most intriguing components of the show! Although I do stand by my initial assessment, no better way to show a villian is a villain than having them kill a baby.

To be fair, she killed the baby by accident. Prior to the act she said she was surprised the neck could support that much weight (the baby's head). The baby's neck was broken due to too much force / manipulation. Also, you can see a twinge on conscience on 6's face as she's walking away.
