I've heard that the original plan was for Daniel and Miranda to end up getting back together at the end, but, similar to the reasons you gave here, they decided it was more realistic for them not to in the end. Like you, I feel like that was probably the right choice. Love this movie, and love the reaction. RIP Robin. You are missed.

This is such a wonderful reaction, Chris. This movie is so important to me. In a weird way, it really captures a lot of how San Francisco felt to me as a kid growing up there, so it’s nostalgic for me in a bunch of ways. I agree that it would have been easy for Stu to be a villain, but the movie is that much stronger that he isn’t.

I love how well it captures San Francisco!. Definitely a stronger choice not to have Stu be a bad guy. I was SURE when Dan was eavesdropping we'd find out the real him, and we did. Really helped the ending as well.
