This was an engaging (hello music!) modern western with very intriguing characters that kept me slightly uncertain which direction it was headed. I could have never predicted the ending would go quite that far, but it was definitely interesting! Thanks Red Dwarf for selecting this film!

So, I'll let you in on a little secret.... I don't really like Westerns...like, at all. And I don't really have any reason stemming from when I was a kid like you do. It's not that I thought they were cheesy or silly looking. There's something about the whole atmosphere of the genre as a whole that just is really off-putting to me. That, plus 90% of all Western plots can be distilled down to 'bad guy or badass hero guy goes around shooting a bunch of people'. But there ARE a very small and select handful of them that I like. Ones that stand out from the others. And this movie is one of them. I like it enough that had Red Dwarf not picked it for the poll and had it not wound up winning, I would have eventually picked it for you I think. And as much as you like to watch classic movies and original versions.... sometimes remakes really are better than the original. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen occasionally. And in my opinion this is one such case. So if you had to watch one version of this film, then I'm glad it was this one. And I'm glad you liked it 🙂

Honestly, if you want a "Western but Modern Movie", the entre should be "Unforgiven".
