This movie was a bit more serious than I expected, but it delivered the goods! It was fun watching Matthew Broderick hack is way into a potential international conflict. I sat with fingers crossed hoping David and Jennifer could find a way to outsmart 'Joshua'.

When Ronald Regan saw this movie, he asked his advisors if this kind of technological threat was possible and when they told him more or less that it was (I mean, the movie made it a bit theatrical but the basic principles of hacking were sound) - Regan demanded that our technology be protected by the government. So as a direct result of this movie, we now have a Cyber Security Department.

It's so wild to consider a film like this could have such an impact on policy, but it really speaks to how fast technology has evolved.
