Patrick McGoohan (Dr. Ruth) was choice #1 for James Bond. But he thought Bond was a misogynistic psycho. So instead he madea TV show, The Prisoner, which heavily influenced David Cronenberg and hence Cronenberg cast him in Scanners. (The Prisoner is #6, btw...one "higher" than 007. Hurray pettiness!)

This was a fun watch along. As I’ve mentioned before this was one of those 1 AM HBO sleep over movies. My best friend and I watched this a million times back then. It’s even better your watching this on HBO. And… now that you have watched it.. you know why I call it a B+ , close to A- movie. It was groundbreaking in concept , but oh so cheesy at the same time. Glad you enjoyed this movie!
