It’s time to look at the morality of our President, who she has become and if she is the person she wants to be when she dies. All with an amazing backdrop of war, drama, and a hint of misdirection.

The network put the scene of D'Anna trolling Roslin over being one of the Final Five into ads for the episode, WITHOUT the reveal that it was a joke. So that was a fun week of half the fans freaking out over it, while the other half wanted to wait and see, with many including myself pointing out that with the edit from D'Anna to Roslin, she might even be talking to someone different in the actual episode (this being the era when just about all TV shows were not at all above lying with this kind of deceptive editing in their promos). Ron Moore was furious at the whole thing and how it distracted everyone from the parts of the episode that really mattered.

Oh man, that ad (and that span of time waiting) was just nuts. I didn't think it was real, though I was in the "D'Anna is talking to somebody else and it's a fake-out" camp. I was REALLY annoyed with SciFi for doing that (as was Ron Moore, as you point out). Fake-out ads and previews are just so annoying and *pointless* in the end. Like, did Marketing really believe that someone who wasn't going to watch BSG was going to tune in to this particular episode because they saw that ad? BSG had a core audience; it wasn't really a "dip in every once in a while and see what's up" kind of show. Bah. However, watching it for itself, it's such a great moment (especially with the score coming in hard to sell it before D'Anna breaks) and then a *great* laugh. I don't know why it's this episode in particular, but for me this is where I go all-in on loving Karl Agathon 100%. I've always liked and admired him, but I just flat-out love him in this one. He's *such* a good guy doing the best he can under bizarre and unimaginable circumstances.

Also must point out the tip of the hat to Han Solo with the "I love you." "'bout time." exchange. There was a lot of laughing and yelling at my watch party.
