June Update 2023 (Patreon)

Hey everyone! Just doing a quick update to let you all know my plans for the month. $6 patrons have already seen them but I've started uploading inked pages of The Muse and they're currently coming along pretty well! The reception so far seems pretty good, so that's always a good thing for me. ;)

I've also finally gone ahead and given a name to the new artist character and MC of this comic (pictured above) for those interested and her name is Lien.

Currently my ETA on finishing the entire comic is looking like it'll take around a week to do colors and everything. After that I'd like to take the opportunity to do something a little different with the rest of this month if you guys are down and here's what I was thinking...

So I've been seeing a lot of people online have been having a ball playing the new Zelda game Tears of the Kingdom and of course my no-Switch-having ass can only watch and be jealous. Despite this, it's been reinvigorating my interest in Zelda stuff and a concept I've been floating around on Twitter involves me doing a NSFW fan comic of some kind, with the twist being that I'd like to do it based on either my own original Zelda universe and visual style or I do something in the vein of the old concept art for some of the original Zelda games (ie the promotional artwork by Katsuya Terada used in stuff like Nintendo Power). This way I still think it'd be a really unique approach to a Zelda comic even within the parameters of it being a fan comic based on an intellectual property. I know at this point most of you are more invested in my original characters than my fanart and I still have no intention of ever not making original comics my main focus, but similar to the Scott Pilgrim comic I did last year I think it would be a fun exercise to experiment outside my regular wheelhouse a bit, but limit it to like a once a year type thing.

So, in this case, I think it'd be cool to spend the rest of the month starting on concept for this potential Zelda comic, since I think I'd need to work on a new style for it, which would mean lots of new sketches and artwork to get a vibe for it. Could be fun! But if you guys have any strong thoughts either way please let me know down below!

Also, frustratingly, I'm writing up this whole post on my phone right now because unfortunately the caretaker at my apartment building accidentally cut the internet cable to my whole apartment while trimming the hedges outside so my phone is currently my ONLY source of internet connection atm. Why does that even matter? Well it won't be fixed til Sunday so any new art I work on in the meantime will have to wait to get posted. I might be able to lug my set-up to a location with free wi-fi in a few days to post some new comic pages and stuff but until then it's locked to my device.

Anyways, this was supposed to be a short update, how the FUCK did I end up writing ALL THAT SHIT? Have a good Tuesday everyone, go outside and enjoy the sunshine or something.
