Kim and Ramona Comic WIP and Roughs (Patreon)

Hey yo, here’s the roughs for the Kim and Ramona mini comic I’ve been working on. I found it really interesting and surprisingly challenging to attempt to draw in Bryan Lee O’Malley’s art style, I thought at first it wasn’t that different than my own and after spending a bit of time with it I can safely say it’s not quite the case. I am used to having a decent level of control over my lineart and Scott Pilgrim characters are so cartoony all the time it’s obvious they’re designed with a loose energy (especially late era Scott Pilgrim, which is where this scene takes place in the comics).

Still making this is a pretty fun challenge. If you’re an artist I’d recommend doing a style study if you’re looking to try something new.
