This week on KJB, Alice shares with us a film that holds an immense amount of meaning for her; Pedro Almodóvar's 1999 'All About My Mother'. The film follows a woman trying to find meaning for herself after the death of her son, and the episode of KJB is of a distinctly Hedwig style. Joining us is returning guest, writer Christopher Caldwell-Kelly, someone to whom the movie also means an immense amount.

Would really like to know what the whole "The last of..." joke was. Otherwise, great episode.

See: Contrapoints - Canceling. A similar joke was also made in the 'The Foreigner' episode

I love your serious episodes, I love the genuine emotion that comes out during them and the catharsis of the humor on the tail end, but- If you keep trying to crack your audience like the Frabrege eggs some of us may well be, you will reap a harvest of self-questioning DMs ok

I remember seeing this in the theater. I was in mes school at the time. HIV treatment and life expectancy was changing fast. There were already patients with undetectable viral loads. I remember one of our infectious diseases professors that patients were starting to ask if they could have partners without infecting them as their viral load was undetectable. Problem was at the time they had no idea. Also what kind of jobs could you perform? The side effects of the medications were hard

Loved this episode, honestly sorry I didn't listen sooner. I always love how you guys cover queer films, it always feels very genuine, even your criticism is coming from a place of serious thought. The discussion about cis people playing trans people made me think of Wong Foo, a movie that's either inevitable for this show to cover, or completely off the table on premise alone.

Knights Who Say Sledge

I loved this. Thank you all. One of your best Patron episodes to date.

I'm so down for Alice's cinema choices and kind of wish you all had a second podcast for your favorite arthouse and/or queer films. Being cis doesn't mean I don't want to know Alice's other #gender film recs besides Vivre Sa Vie!

You all should review l’Immensita, a film about how cool it would be to have Penelope Cruz as your mom as a trans child.

I loved this episode, but you failed to mention, how Rosas turtleneck/hoop scarf fits progress from moderate to outright excessive over the course of the movie.
