The Bourne Legacy is a perfect case study for what happens when a series is getting tired, so you bring in a new guy to breathe new life into it- and it really works! until the final half hour, where it's heroic attempt to reach out of the pile of slop, like Sandman in Spider Man 3 attempting to impose order on his constituent parts through sheer force of will, eventually fails and it collapses back into formless, meaningless Bourne-slop.
Or something like that.

Kyle Clark

So, this Jeremy Renner character is literally Forrest Gump. A lot of people haven't heard about Project 100,000. It was funded by friend of the WTYP Podcast, Robert McNamara. It was basically a way to increase the number of US troops serving in Vietnam by drastically lowering some of, let's say, the mental capacity of some of the new recruits. Drafting the mentally challenged to die -not fight, to die. Sadly only one of the most despicable things that Rob McNamara did. The press called them 'McNamara's Morons'. Real shit. These poor guys were used as actual meat shields.

"Jeremy Renner in perfect wolf pose" Imagining Renner in winter gear, out in the snow sat on his butt, one leg up in the air trying to lick his own genitals

Slazenger Kincaid

I don't know what the deal was with trying to insert Jeremy Renner into existing spy/espionage franchises. There was this and then Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol.

Out of curiosity, would y'all consider having Grace G Freud on to discuss the 9/11 knock on effects of The Santa Claus film franchise?

me at the gender psychiatrist saying "yes i will commit to the program, i've been living like im in the program for several years"

Cate Kneale

I've recently come across the film Winter Kills (1979) and it sounds very much like something I'd like to hear you KJB lovelies discuss. it sounds both good and absolutely terrible

Christine Pizan

surprisingly positive episode, maybe i should give the film another chance; though given how much we diverged in opinions on the last few movies, maybe not i believe the intention with this movie was to start a whole new franchise focused around aaron cross' character, but the film didn't do well enough financially for another to be made then greengrass came back a few years later for some reason and made a film that basically pretends this one didn't exist

Bourne: Not The Guy But You Get The Idea

A Sentient Mongoose

definitely one of the best episodes so far! listened to it like four times and the Ultimate Drop kills me everytime

Totally Useless

There was a real thing called “Project 100,000” (“McNamara's Misfits” is the most PC way it was described) when DoD tried to use borderline mentally disabled people in the army.

We need a standalone file of the ultimate drop. That one drop completely incapacitated me for an entire 5 minutes.

I guess to cover all the bases the system has to be GIRTHSCUM.

Lay-Tex-Lips

Maybe the U in SCUM could become something like Uncriticized Violence or Unnecessary Violence, instead of Unprovoked Violence since that’s a mainly Bond idea
