It's time for a New Guy.

We were all getting a little sick of the birthday boy, so now it's time to explore an entirely new frontier: What if Bond was Welsh?
Albert Broccoli approached Dalton no less than three times to play Bond, and when he finally acquiesced, they rewarded him by writing a movie that is actually extremely good, for maybe 2/3rds of the runtime. Then.... hoo boy.

Shocked and horrified to know that not only have I seen this movie but I have screenshots of it from two months ago even though I don’t remember any of it

OvO Hoot

Joe Don Baker is the only Bond villain who actually exists. There is absolutely some deluded fascist arms dealer pretending he's Napoleon out there.

And to think, he comes back to life as Jack Wade of the CIA in Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies. Sunrise, sunset. Sunrise, sunset. The cats in the cradle with a silver spoon. Sir we have no bananas.

Fucking amazing episode. I love that you used the drops more in this episode. Didn't Lupe contend for the Bussy Clock record and add to the misogyny score?

Also, the Pretenders also sang the song Necros listens to when he kills the milkman and Saunders. It's called Where Has Everybody Gone? and it's on par with Duran Durans A View to a Kill. This is John Barry's last film as a composer and he helped make those songs, so I thought I'd mention it.

why the fuck didnt you mention chekov's unused parrot

Anonymous

Dude, that may be the same parrot from For Your Eyes Only.

Never heard a trace of Welsh accent in Dalton as Bond ... until, in fairness, that 'dope' in the drop at 1:06:00.

Karis Ritenour

I definitely heard Abigail's question at the beginning as "Yo, you ever heard of whales?" And for a hot minute I thought I had somehow missed that there was a marine mammal-based Bond movie. Bond vs. Green Peace maybe?? (Tell me you're not from the UK without telling me you're not from the UK).

Stef Potter

Oh hey. I can also campaign here for a Flash Gordon bonus episode. 😁

Cameron sounds like Tim McInnery in Blackadder the 4th!

Christine Pizan

i remember very much enjoying the living daylights as a kid, though coincedentally i have no memory of any part of it occuring outside europe, in my mind it was just a eurothriller

Christine Pizan

dalton was so much better suited to the euro-thriller bourne trilogy mould than he was james bond lol

ofc the bad guys in bond movies would be blackbeard mains smh my head

just watched the entire dalton tenure and i think what ive taken away most of all is that the dalton bonds escalate to such an insane degree from what they started as; this one starts with russian defection and ends with the mujihadeen, licence to kill starts with felix getting his leg bitten off by a shark, then two hours of revenge pass and hes detonating tanker trucks full of cocaine in a desert and setting a man on fire after having sabotaged at least 3 different legal attempts to bring the cunts in alive and attending a party that i think was supposed to be hosted by the dude whos entire life he just blew a hole in like a trucker in a gas station bathroom
