Commission for Cophocoa of his two mermaids dressed as sea bunnies!

If you haven't seen sea bunnies before, you should take a second to google them. They're really cute and colorful. This piece is riffing on the typical bunny girl design, but mixing it with sea bunny aesthetics. There was no design for that yet, so part of the challenge was making one myself. This is what I came up with for the both of them.

I wanted to bring up the composition problem in this piece. Their long tails and Stella's long hair made it challenging to do a composition where one's elements wasn't obscuring the other's, and where it felt like there was an even balance across the canvas. I tried a few things before I settled on this, which thankful works quite nicely!

Also, check out those scales! They bend nice and smooth. :D
