Nelico (hi-res) (Patreon)

Commission for CrimSoul54 (you might remember him from the Lynn pieces! Like https://www.patreon.com/posts/67152273 ) of a new OC Nelico.

Crim liked the Hitomi & Yuki pool bar piece I did for Armakun ( https://www.patreon.com/posts/38581377 ) and wanted something like that, but set in a cyberpunk setting. I admit I was nervous about tackling this. I had no idea how that would look like, but decided to give it a shot. This is what I ended up with!

Being cyberpunk, it was important to have loads of LED lighting. Make it evening, and have it drenched in neon light. This could work nicely with the pool bar having neons on the underside of the counter, and then neons on the ceiling. And thankfully the interplay of the two looks cool. Perhaps the pink ceiling LED with pinkish hair is a little too close in contrast, but I still thought it worked the best from the colors available, and with some glows and stuff, I think it works out.

Unexpectedly, one of the hardest challenges in this piece was doing highlights, especially on her skin. The problem is that her skin is fairly light, but it's supposed to be reflecting neon color, inherently very bright also. Bright on bright just does not pop out at all. I ended up having to experiment with different layer modes and found that glow dodge solves this problem quite nicely. New tool in my bag of tricks!
