Commish for Maya of his cutie Julie, who you may remember from a few months ago!

Same swimsuit, but this time the scene is of her walking into some sort of indoor pool. I wanted it to look kind of opulent and sexy and have this striking lighting from an overhead opening and from the door behind her. 

As I expected, it ended up being quite the tricky background and lighting. I wanted the colors for the bg to look fairly neutral, and not fight with the colors on her; She's supposed to be the main grab of the piece, and you don't want other details fighting with that. But at the same time, a bg like this requires a certain base level of detail to look appealing. So it was a bit of a tricky balance to light it in such a way that everything worked in harmony and looked natural. 

The spotlight ended up making the lighting even more tricky because it ideally makes a volumetric lighting sort of effect. Making that come through while again not obscuring her key features was challenging. And then for good measure there's some water rendering.

These were solid challenges, and I hope it's made me a little bit better at handling more complex scenes. I hope the love and care I put into it shines through. =w=
