Chinatsu Cheongsam (hi-res) (Patreon)

The result of the first Chinatsu costume poll, it's Chinatsu in a chinese dress, a.k.a. a cheongsam!

I love the side parting on these kinds of dresses, so I wanted to play with an idea like that. And then I thought, what if Chinatsu's pulling up the dress with an embarrassed look on her face? Yes, yes, yes. Also, I gave her a ponytail to better fit the aesthetic too.

Shading the dress was quite tricky. I wanted to capture a classic satin texture, but replicating satin is like a demonic art. It's not like most fabric where it's brightest where it receives most direct light, but rather on creases that seem to point toward the POV, or something???? I think it came out okay in the end and I gained a little bit of understanding of how it works, but I'd need a bunch more practice to really understand it well.

And then for the dress color, initially I was thinking a classic red, but then during my research I came upon some dark ones and I was like hold the phone. It turned out pretty neato burrito, I think.
