With this piece I wanted to challenge myself to do something that I don't do very often: to make the face the focus of the piece well above the erogenous zones. I didn't necessarily set out to do that from the start - I actually wanted us to see her tush some more - but the logistics of the idea didn't work out for that. I really liked how the zigzagging of the twintails looked and the frontal view of the face, and turning the angle kind of ruined that. So I buckled in and took on the challenge, and I'm very happy with how it turned out.

I tried a couple new things with the background lighting in this piece. One of them is that extra exposed piece of sand on the top left. I kinda just did it on a whim, but I love what it adds, and will definitely be experimenting with it more. The other is those outlines you see most prominently around that exposed area, which I'm still not certain on what they're called, but I think the idea is they convey some sort of sub-surface scattering, and make the lighting look warmer and more believable. Also something I'll keep experimenting with.
