Previously on RIP Cintiq: My 13 years old Cintiq has died and I researching which new model to chose.
I was gonna go with Cintiq Pro 27 but the fan noise is worrying me, plus, it super pricey! The second choice was Xencelebs Pen Display 24. All the review are positive aside, the video showing their pen drawing is pretty jittery even for a small doodle and that's a deal breaker for me.
In the end I chose Huion Kamvas 22 Plus. The cheapest but most potential of them all imo. No fan noise since there's no fan inside, no pen jittery and 3 times cheaper than Wacom product with same specs.
The only thing that bugging me is the color XD The Plus model saying it has 140% of sRGB and its shown here. Everything is over saturated it become unuseable. Imagine those Samsung phone with Oled color and make it double. @_@ My eyes are bleeding lol
Luckily there's a color profile you can change easily in the Huion community thread here.
Other feature like laminated glass screen in the plus model is do nothing for me. I prefered thicc glass with durable ability more than this thin glass for monitor.
The pen is also super sensitive. Imagine you have a brush size you like and once you press the pen for a little bit of weight the brush become kaiju sized all of sudden. It can be fixed easily with pen pressure setting but that's proof that the more pressure they add doesn't mean it doing any better.
My pen pressure setting.
All that left is the feeling to get used to this new tablet. Might take some times but I will make it!
If you looking for this model, I recommend the normal Kamvas 22 one (without the Plus). $100 cheaper and more color accuracy. You don't need a bigger screen like 24" with 4k unless it's 32" screen. Smaller than that the 1080p is enough! XD
Now that's everything is all set. I'm ready to dive back into working again!
FIGHTO!
