I knew from the begining that Hank gonna hunt the rabbit, classic to the max!

What I didn't know is that a normal cutie rabbit is so boring to draw lol

So I try drawing in the idea of an anthro rabbit, hence the Billy Buns has born.

Thinking Billy might not follow the trope of wacky cartoon rabbit by making him a professor type...

or some derp rabbit.

Still, the problem is the same, they are not that fun to draw.

So I started looking at some references and thinking of what gonna motivate me the most when drawing and animating this rabbit.

Study the real life rabbit structure then apply to the cartoony method always fun.

Here we have Billy Buns in his almost final form!

I made Billy as a fun lttle fellas who always cause a trouble to Hank, just like the old classic cartoons.

His clothes are including a bow tie, a wristband that looks like the one on the tuxedo. My bf jokingly he looks like Magic Mike lol. Which is kinda good idea since that gonna help with his personality more.

Something I'm not sure is the pants and his fur color. I kinda have a picture in my head that Billy fur will be bright, wooden color, almost white and no pants.

Color test time!

My friend suggest that his pants is actually a shirt and Billy wearing it around his waist instead.

PERFECT!!!

Make it all black and now he's really is MAGIC MIKE LOL

Fur color! The almost white, almost pale color looks good but I wanna experiment a bit. Knowing that the more line/pattern/color on the rabbit the more its harder to animate but still~ Gotta try!

I like the black fur but its not for Billy. Gonna keep that for some future rabbit character!

Look at them, together, chaos is bound to happen!!

Size comparison and figuring how he gonna hold the rabbit. By neck, by waist? How heigh, how sized etc.

Like Hank, I'm not gonna make a super details character model sheet to guide me. I love the idea is that 2D animation in anture is all about imperfection. Every frame is a new drawing so just, lets have fun and not strict to the model much!

Next: Making cartoon time!

I already have some fun scenario in my head and can't wait to start drawing a board and anim them!
