I talk about wanting to make another cartoon shorts in 2023 In the previous post and it's gonna be a classic, old fashion cartoon tales about the misadventure of the a big bad wolf.

Introducing, Hank Howell 🐺

I have many proj last year but at the end of the day, I just want to make an old school cartoons XD 

I love the cartoons from the 40s-60s era. Whether they are Disney, Warner Bros or MGM, they all have this simple story line driven by a character's motivation with funny scenario. Classic cartoons like these are the one that made me feel excited and motivated the most haha.

I came up with the story idea, about the classic tales of Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. But the wolf has made a wrong turn and ended up at the Three Bears house instead of Red Riding Hood's grandma XD

The concept is that he's a hungry big bad wolf that want to eat something but always failed and that's it.

His first sketch design was this generic 40s cartoon wolf from that era. Long snout, humanoid bod, gloves and a patched overalls. I like the simplistic but he's gonna looks too much like Wuffle at this point XD 

I also want him to be as generic as possible. As an homage to the classic cartoon wolf design, but at the same time he must looks distinguish enough too.

Tada!

Small head, big long ear, point cheeks fluff and a puff around the neck. His overall shape speaks to me XD But I think he's a bit too big. Need to make him a but more slim and narrow, to show that he's not eating much and always hungry.

Voilà!

I borrow the shape of Robin Hood from Disney movie. Make him much easier to draw and the body language is strong in this one. 

He basically a triangle wolf. mean and sharp and cunning!

I don't dress him much but a vest and a red jeans are just right. Easy to draw, easy to animate.

I'm greatly satisfied with how he turn out. Easy and fun to draw. Simple yet recognizable. The personality, the attitude is cleared and different enough from Wuffle, he's a big bad one for sure XD
