Hiya! The production design of the first draft on The Emperor's New Clothes was all done. Characters and sets design HERE, with music and story board in an animatic form HERE and Visual Development HERE. Thanks to you all for keep supporting <3

Now I'm drafting another version of the film. Started with Arthur 2.0!

At first I was planning to just simplified the design without any concept at all. Just some rough picture in my head that his shape is now easier and flow like a vase, with hair style that looks like a crown. 

I like the pantless one but something was off. I can't pin point it until I realized later that I don’t know who he is in this version.

So I start making some back story for him.

Arthur in this version is a fashion designer, known as The Emperor of the runway who's very strict and want his collection to be as perfect as possible. Only to realized he forgot what fun is…

When he was young he's so full of creativity and dreamt to be the greatest fashion designer. His younger design represent him as a carefree spirit who's dare to go wild, messy but fun. To show that he has not much money I gave him a classic overalls and a pin cushion on his left wrist <3

The present Arthur is the one we gonna see a lot in the film. The Arthur that very strict to the rule and forgot the fun in the work. His style become so neat even his mane is so smooth and flat it become one with the clothes. His clothes is now covered most of the body, as a symbol of covering his true, past self.

Last is woke Arthur. Once he realized what he has become, he then breaking the rule and become a better version of himself. He's now stay professional but with more fun and playful personality than ever before. His clothes resemble both fun and professional without being too strict and serious this time. With openly vase and folding sleeves and a suspenders that he hiding it are now showing <3

The emperor's new clothes in this version is a metaphor Arthur accepting himself and become something new, something he could wear comfortably and be a better man <3
