Mango Manga: Li'l Mango (Patreon)

While taking a rest from Hank anim (watch the exclusive short HERE before anyone else!) I'm exploring the idea of Mango the Dragon in comic form.

In the comic I'm developing, the story will start when Mango gets lost in the sea. He was found by Papa Yogurt and Smoothies of Ottersons family.

The more I think about it, the more Mango characters should start as a young dragon around 14 years old, before growing into a kind, adult dragon we are familiar with later.

What would young Mango look like?

A young fisherderg that is! Drawing kids proportion is harder than I thought tho!

Here, I use Future boy Conan as a reference and it helped a lot with the overall shape!

I kinda dig this design. Young Mango has this feeling of being rebellious.

He might be against Papa Yogurt and start living on his own.

You know, teenage stuff.

That means it will affect the design of Papa Yogurt and Smoothie as well.

I know exactly what Papa Yogurt will look like if I go with this design.

A grouchy old man with angry looks but very kind inside.

I was not sure with Smoothie design and role yet at that point.

One time I even considered get rid of Smoothie due to the story conflicts.

But that changes later when I found a perfect formula of Ottersons family <3

Young Mango needs a big bro to guide him after all!

Smoothie design is now back to the same old one.

No matter how many years have passed, he still looks the same!

Smoothie tries to cover Mango's identity to the mayor Komodo. Saying he's a pony XD

I spent some time getting used to the design and the right proportion so I can draw him easily.

Here he is, Mango. The Young Dragon of Gelato Island!

Hope you enjoy this <3 I am personally excited to know the direction of the comic. We'll see Mango growing from li'l brat to himbo slowly as the story goes lol
