A Promise Best Left Unkept V0.3.0 - Passed Out (15$) Tier (Patreon)

Let’s first talk about the technicalities. V0.3.0 is around 21k words long. It has two new sex scenes, and about 7 new CG sets.

Now that the boring stuff is out of the way, I want to inform you guys that I did in fact find more time under my bed. Well...not really. I just worked more. In fact, I just finished working on the update an hour ago. So, what I’m trying to say here is that I was able to add the moaning sounds in the game. Shoutout to KittenVox, the voice actress, who I think has a lot of talent. It was delightful to work with her, and a great first experience with a VA.

Hopefully, I didn’t forget to add anything in the game, and with any luck, there are no bugs that I missed. I was so into adding the sounds that I didn’t have quite the time to re-re-recheck that the release was up to my standard.

Moaning sounds

So yeah, the moaning sounds were added throughout the game. It’s the first time that I do something like this. I did try to add generic moaning sounds in the V0.1 of my first game (The Edge Of), but I felt like it was kind of weird so I decided against it. I still kinda feel that way. Since there are a lot of things I can’t properly control with those sounds (since they are made to work for a variety of situations), I never feel quite satisfied with the way I introduce those sounds. But this feeling probably will never go away unless I have full control (for that I would need full voice acting, which is out of my reach). So hopefully, it works out alright. Just know that if something sounds wrong, it’s not the voice actress, it’s me. She was ready—and still is ready—to work with me for a longer period of time, but I was personally very satisfied with her work. She definitely nailed what I was looking for.

I just want to point out, also, that, as of right now, the scene replay menu only has the scenes without the moans. I was in a bit of a hurry, so I didn’t have the time to update the menu. Sorry.

Sex SFX sounds

On the other side of the spectrum, I probably had one of the worst experiences when it came to commissioning the guy for the SFX sounds (pounding sounds, cumming sounds, etc.). There were quite a few sounds that he just didn’t know how to make, the sounds cost more than what they probably should, and some of the sounds I had to personally work on for them to be more to my liking. All in all, we have five sounds that were changed. They are an improvement for sure, but still not worth what I paid for, in my opinion. The pounding sounds, the sex behind the wall sounds, the male ejaculation sounds, the penis masturbation sound, and the fingering sounds were the sounds that were changed.

Time Display

Someone asked me if I could add the day of the month somewhere because it is hard to keep track of how many days remain for the rules. I was a bit reluctant to the idea because I want to keep the UI clean, and also I don’t think this information is really relevant for Harry’s perspective. But I do agree that it is difficult to keep track of the days/weeks. So I decided to add a counter showing how many days remain to the rule system. The counter can be seen when there’s a shift in perspective (only when it’s Laura). Here’s an example:

In any case, I’m kind of dead right now, so I might be forgetting to mention something/made an error somewhere. If that’s the case, sorry. Though, I think I did touch on what’s most important.
