As promised, here's the first of three video commentaries by Bob Jaques for cartoons on Popeye the Sailor: The 1940s, Vol. 2: The Island Fling, which we talked up on our inaugural podcast. The next two are forthcoming. Wotta Knight will be right up after this, Rodeo Romeo will be a bit, as I have to re-edit it after a computer crash. While the Famous Studios Popeyes were run to death by our local TV stations in the 1960's, it comes as no great surprise that this one and "Pop-Pie A La Mode" were never, EVER shown.
