You do not, but you raise a point where I can increase the clarity in my promotions. If you are only interested in the short, I'll gladly refund you this month's pledge, as you never needed to become a patron to buy it. It is an outright better deal though. The idea is that the discount code refunds new members the cost of a month's patreon, meaning I'm trying to give you access to both the short you wanted and to my full patreon catalogue for the same price as the short alone. I'm not trying to get additional money from you. This is included in the text below my promotional materials, but I'll be updating the graphics to try and make this distinction clear so there is no further confusion in the future. To summarize: not all projects are hostable here on Patreon. This Patreon is a continuously updated catalogue of monthly animation sequences, sourced from patron input, made entirely by me. Gumroad is where I have to host side projects and collaborations with other artists (like the short you mentioned, which took a year of collabing to make). Patrons get access that content for cheaper, and get the Patreon content on top of that.
