These are some shots from my very first shoot with Black Faction.
It was a Saturday, I was so excited to finish work, go home and get ready for the shoot. My beautiful friend Taylor came with me to calm some nerves I had, but it also looked like something so exciting and I really wanted her to be apart of it also. Going inside the building I really had NO idea what to expect. The beautiful Kandi was leaving to go grab some afternoon tea for everyone one set. I sat in the office with Photoman and we exchanged introductions.
Getting dressed upstairs with Taylor we both were incredibly fascinated looking at the gorgeous display of costumes, props and weapons. it wasn’t until we looked at ourselves in the mirror did it really set in how bloody awesome this was. We felt powerful, sexy, assertive all the while still so confused about just “what the hell is this going to be?”
Photoman ran us through some easy scenes to get us warmed up to the camera, on my first day I was disintegrated. I can confidently say this was my first time shaking and trembling in front of a camera, having really no idea how it was going to look in the episode. There were many laughs and giggles all throughout that afternoon. Kandi was taking notes about photography and angles. She really welcomed me with open arms to the Black Faction family. And since then we have grown such a strong chemistry on and off camera.
We also did some hand on hand combat, i suggested to air tackle my friend into the safety mat. Which turned out really well in the photo sets. Also practising falling dramatically onto the air bags inside the backpacks. Funny enough one of my falls I thought was “too dramtatic“, which had me asking Photoman wether or not it was too much. “No no dramatic is what we want!” he reassured me before calling rolling again. Being given free range to really toss myself around has been one of my favourite things to do now.
I remember doing an Azologoth scene. The blue tarp was so strange at first but Photoman showed us how he edits it after we had finished for the day, as well as showing me my photos in my standard Unit gear. It was at that point I knew just how much I was going to love this.
