Hey everyone, this is an important update for changes coming here to the spice rack, why they are happening, and how those of you who have invested already will be protected. Also, enjoy the Sharks above because well... It's shark week! (Love Tailblazer's sharking of me)

So firstly, I've been through a lot lately and am going through some significant life changes ahead. I want to make sure what I make on Patreon balances well with life and trying to get jobs to handle my work-life balance better. To date, my output has either been a massive stream of pieces or a lapse in them. I want to make sure that it is more of a steady experience for my supporters. Second, I would like the Spice Rack to continue to be a Nexus, a port of guest artists and creators that I can contribute to, work with, and expose my supporters to them. As it is now, my tier system doesn't financially support the work being done entirely, nor can it evenly cater to tiers when I am unsure when certain pieces will be done with my collaborators. So I will be making one significant change, but with a caveat to protect people who may not like that change, at least for a while. I know some people have invested for a year so read through this thoroughly if you are worried.

The change is that all pieces moving forward will be consolidated and attributed to a $5 tier. That tier will have shorts, comics, and longer pieces all premiering on that tier. $5 will get you everything! And because of that anything that posts will post there and keep the tier experiencing constant updates. $1 tier will be moving to a tip jar (keep in mind that Patreon takes about 20% of my income here, so... it's an 80 cent tip.

I will still be tagging pieces for lower tiers for people concerned about being forced to pay more or already bought a year at a particular lower tier. Stories will go to anyone who bought in at $6, comics and shorts to $3, but the ability for new people to join those tiers moving forward will be gone. And after a year when people who bought a year subscription runs out... there will be no updates to anything but the $5 tier.

This should help the Spice Rack grow in the long run, be better funded overall, and still buffer for my followers I have already. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. In the long run, this will be a better experience for all, even if it means some people need to come and go and be less steady.

Thank you all your continued support

-jess
