The ending bit was about notable authors (and ones that inspired Detective Conan) and their signature characters. If someone were to say Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, then you would say Sherlock Holmes. For Seishi Yokomizo, you would say Kosuke Kindaichi. And finally, for Edogawa Ranpo, you would say Kogoro Akechi. That's where Yoko goofed, as she said Kogoro Mouri instead lol that's why Conan was disappointed. Fun fact, in the manga, this case took place in the middle of the Clash of Red and Black storyline. At the beginning, Conan and Haibara discussed details on a particular character. But with TMS adapting this before that storyline, the conversation was replaced with the Detective Boys talking to Yoko, Waka, and Azusa, with the last two women being cameos of real Japanese actresses. For what it's worth, the way these specials are structured pretty much becomes the norm for the regular episodes. A prologue of sorts at the beginning, the opening, followed by the main episode, the ending, and then an epilogue. I do believe this format begins with Episode 526, which is after another set of specials lol (four specials in five episodes. Good luck lol the good part about this is that specials become very rare after this point). With that in mind, you probably are gonna have to sit through the openings when you reach that point. To avoid any spoilers in the preview bit (the "severity" of those spoilers is pretty random with every EP), what I did was move my mouse to the bottom right corner to peek at the desktop as the preview started, basically hiding the video. Once Conan yells out "Meitantei Conan," I moved the mouse away to see the video again and fullscreened it. Some of the songs used for the later openings are really good, and have become some of my personal favorites. Really, I would say the openings actually compliment certain points of the anime's overall story. The endings are something else. Other than the good songs and the occasional throwback to the first few openings, one reason I found myself sitting through the endings was because of the little stories they would tell with different characters. They're pretty sweet. As a few others have mentioned, I would also recommend you to sit through the endings for the 14-parter. Honestly, the ending they used for that arc is perfect.

I wasn’t hoping you to enjoy the opening song, everyone has a different taste of the song they like, just because it shows parts of the story, also I thought you can just chill while the opening is playing. You can skip next opening if you like, because there are characters would be spoiler for you. Just to point out some fact to you. The singer of this opening is Sakai Izumi, the main vocalist of the band ZARD. She past away May 2007, she have done many Conan OSTs. Although the next opening for 491 was also by her, but this one “Glorious Mind” was her last song. During the recording of this song she already having tough health issue. It was reported that she past out due to a accident falling down from the stares at the hospital she stays in. Hint for next special, Heiji‘s name in Japanese translation means number 2, the story took place three years ago when they were 14 secondary school.
