I feel like in the context of the book yeah it makes sense Percy finds out later about Kronos but it does make a lot of sense that Percy found out about Kronos like this in the show. Especially after the talk with Ares in the diner and he talks about Kronos. Then the incident with Tarturus and the shoes then him realizing the voice wasn't Hades and something way more powerful in Tarturus. He already knew about Kronos beforehand it doesn't take that much to realize that the powerful feeling he is getting from Tarturus is no other than Kronos.

My thoughts exactly. Its not as far fetched as people make it out to be. If anything, it becomes pretty obvious after that interaction with Hades.
