little things you still find out even after watching this for the 4th time or what not... - Justin saying he was 11 when he thought his father was dead not being in correlation with him supposedly being a freshman who learned of his father's death in 2nd grade, 7 years ago.. I don't know if the actor messed up and in the heat of the moment or if someone in the writer's room was very very confused, but I personally only caught it now 😂

I mean, 2004 wasn't the stone ages. People knew what trans people were. Yes, they didn't have the level of acceptance they do today. However, you can see this show treat the subject with some respect. Yes, Justin said "circus freak," but he was a kid and was shocked. But the SHOW treated it with class....Veronica explaining that Julia loved Justin and that's what should matter. I think a lot of people think the 90's and 2000's wasn't progressive, but it was. Many of the movements and progressive ideas we have today grew out of that time.
