edit: thank you guys for the feedback and letting me know :) looks like i will just continue like i hve been. thanks for hearing me out and giving me other ideas to do for the 20th anniversary :)

Hello! So it has been brought to my attention that the Buffy s7 finale aired May 20, 2003, and if I am able to space out my uploads, I could post exactly 20 years after the original air date of the finale!

I feel like this is such an insane coincidence that not many reactors have the chance to do, so if you guys are okay with having fewer uploads each month leading up to May, then I could make it happen! :D

(I would go to a schedule of 5 or 6 uploads a month instead of the 7 I have been doing)

I know everyone would love for me to just finish the show already haha, I understand, but I think this is such a cool opportunity. But of course, you guys are the ones paying for the videos, so let me know what you guys think.

Whatever the majority is, I will go with that :)

Hey Alley. I voted for keep posting like you are. I think it's cool that you were thinking about the 20 year since it ended part but maybe you could stream or upload a Buffy themed video on the anniversary instead? Just an idea =)

Steven morgan

It’s up to you, but I don’t see the point.

Shaun Houghton

There seems to be a lot of Ebenezer Scrooges here, "What? Anniversary? Bah Humbug". Couple that with the impatient "Watch this next, no watch that. Watch it at this time, no that time", this is a very sad discussion filled with selfish entitlement. I'm sure Alley will ask for new show suggestions when she is ready to start considering it. However given how this attempt to do something for her patrons/viewers has been received, I couldn't blame her if she just got advice from her friends and just chose one from there.

JC

She literally put up a poll, dude.

Suzi

It's already been dragged out way too long as it is. Waiting until the end of May will probably cause people to bolt, myself included. I can only afford one Patreon and this is it. There's another channel I watch and the reactor started Buffy in April 2022 and finished it yesterday while also doing Angel. Sorry if I sound cranky about it but it seems to the casual viewer that it's more about the grift, I know you're doing this because you love Buffy and I'm all about the profitable exchange of goods for currency but pushing the finale until the end of May is torturous. No offense intended, you're one of my favorite reactors, but money can unfortunately be an issue these days.

Dave Ford

I don't want to be harsh, but exactly how many videos a week do you think people should be reacting to? I agree that making the series end to meet the anniversary isn't warranted, but complaining that Alley isn't watching them fast enough feels unreasonable to me. Her channel is excellent value for money, and most channels would be doing one episode of a show a week typically.

Michael

I understand only being able to budget one reactor. I get it. I also (for full disclosure) voted No. However, accusing her of grifting when she has probably, literally ten times the amount of subs as the next Buffy reactor, seems a bit excessive.

mike_monotone

The only reason people have brought up new shows - within this particular context - is because theres an obvious need to pad things out if the last 11 episodes get dragged out until May. Patreon is still a paid service and folks want their moneys worth.. that shouldnt come as a surprise to anyone.

Posting as much as you do doesn't mean that it has to be Buffy/Angel. If you remain at the same pace, you should be allowed to post whatever you want. I can understand binge-watching because of the interesting stories, but I can also understand not wanting it to end, therefore taking longer to watch the final episodes.

Steve Quast

Started Buffy in April 2022 and already finished? Most reactors DO NOT go through the show that quickly. I haven't watched anyone who has. Currently Alley is posting two Buffyverse reactions a week which is quite good. Even extending the finale until May would still be one a week, which is still not bad, and it's all some reactors do. While I did vote no in the poll, (because I admit, I'm a bit anxious to see her finish it, lol), I want Alley to do what she wants. If money is an issue, it's always possible to stop supporting a reactor for a few months and then come back when more content is available. I've done that with other reactors who have had to slow down because of life issues (which sucks, but it happens).

Shaun Houghton

Michael, I'm all for people wanting value for money, but we are talking 7 US dollars a month. That isn't that much, really what can you get at Starbucks for that? Yes, Starbucks suck, but the point stands. If the poll voted to spread out the viewing, then this might be where suggestions for other things could occur. At the point of simply putting up this poll, we were not there yet. For just 7 US dollars a month, people can just cool their jets a little bit.

Steven morgan

If your going to slow things down may I suggest adding something like firefly or perhaps dr who ?

as awesome as it would be, im gonna be selfish and say the more the merrier. besides, we still have angel s5 to get to too.

Johnny Coleman

I love your content too much to vote yes. That being said my vote changes if you want to add in other shows. I also will continue to support you even if you do slow down for any reason.

Suzi

I totally get it, and to be clear, I didn't say I think Alley is grifting, I said "to the casual observer it might appear" and I only said that because several people who don't watch Buffy but watch other things on YT etc were having a conversation about YTubers who are definitely all about the grift and knowing I'm using Patreon they questioned me about it. I said Alley isn't grifting because I don't believe she is, I shouldn't have even mentioned it since I ruffled some feathers, I just assumed I could say what I heard others say since it was my comment. I'll be sure to keep my comments to myself in the future. ETA The other reactor is Elie Moses who is 22 and is going to college studying law and film. He has been doing Angel as well. I get life gets in the way, it's Alleys channel, she can do what she wants. She asked what we thought and I said what I thought. Mods and or Alley can feel free to delete my comments, I just felt the need to answer you. Happy New Year.

Mary Kate

Maybe sprinkle in some firefly???

J

I voted no. I am curious as to what TV show you'll be doing after Buffy/Angel are done though?

Kirby

I voted no. If you are going to slow down the pace of Buffy/Angel, adding extra shows is a great idea. Firefly is a good suggestion. I personally would love to see you react to Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

To be fair, we do live in a "binge watching kind of world" ...well outside patreon atleast. So for modern standards, uploading videos like how you watched shows in the 90s, can be a tough pill to swallow.... My tipp is. quit the channel and check in once theyre finished if thats all you want to pay and view. Might sound harsh but no one here has any responsibilities to make sure Alley gets paid every month. You dont have to pay for the service if you cant afford it. Just quit, then you can binge next time you join. i was once subscribed to a dude..i think he is on his 4rth year of Buffy reactions and he still hasnt finished it. Its taking the piss and its clearly to rope in more viewers. That kinda stuff makes me leave. I have no reposonsibility to make sure a reactor keeps getting paid. And Susie means Elie Moses, i will stay with him and i will become a patreon of his once he gets a patreon simply as a damn thank you for finishing the show so quickly. For that reason i will keep watching other stuff with him but i will leave evereyone else who started uploading quickly, then getting slower... and slower...then starting with new shows..making it obvious its all about the money (cause why else rope in the viewers like that). Dont take it personal, this is a service after all and i meant the last part in general. Its very noticeable, especially when it comes to Buffy. Elie Moses will have Buffy fans following him for life for what he did. im not even kidding.

After reading the comments though, people dont seem to see this as a service. Its like theyre supporting their niece or something.
