Next: Buffy 6x18 on Wed

THE ANSWER IS YES. YES, THIS WAS THE BEST BEGINNING SCENE EVER.

SHEEEEE, I am still not over it.. LIKE WOW... Tim Minear put his whole directussy into this episode. Like POP OFFFFF!!

Okay okay besides the amazing directing, I loved this episode! We get to tag along with.... ugh I legit dont wanna say either of his names 😭 I hate it here.... whatever, you know.. HIM.. got to tag along with him and see him discover the world for the first time. And gah damn, the second person he meets in this new world, Sunny :( I am still upset.

But yeah, I really really loved this one and it looks like its gonna be an insane end arc for this season 👀 especially our sir Holtza back?? HELLOOOO??? and I am so sorry if he is just in old age makeup but he do be lookin like a zombie 😭 Is that whats happening?? Have we learned nothing from Buffy s4?? lmaooo, very interested to see what happens next!!!!

Hope yall enjoyyyyy! :D

Also Angel being offended at Steven not being an Irish name... You bought him hockey sticks as a baby. Hurling was there, just waiting for you in all its Irish glory but you went for HOCKEY instead...

Well it appears that the name Stephen gets more of a negative reaction out of you then Connor does, so I’m guessing between the two exes, the break-up with the one named Stephen was the worst?…Lol, okay we won’t ever speak of it again. And yes, Connor/Stephen is a teenage character at this point and time, between the ages of sixteen and seventeen, as was confirmed by Gunn earlier in the episode, and of course a teenage boy who grew up in a world where there were no female versions of his species, is going to react quite positively to a girl kissing him for the first time…I’m just saying.

Are you aware that Cabin in the Woods was written by Joss Whedon...?

The way Angel as a series builds up to their season finales versus Buffy is so different, in all 3 seasons so far you're kind of unsure what even the season finale is going to be, or who the "big bad" is really. Season 1 had the relatively down to earth gimmick of "we have to stop this ritual Wolfram and Hart want to do and also save Cordelia" that ended up having massive ramifications for Season 2 (and now 3 of course since Darla coming back was so pivotal). Then Season 2 has the, at the time, seemingly massive diversion into Pylea but that leads to the revelation that Wolfram and Hart are truly old and multidimensional, adds Fred to the group and grows the characters but doesn't really have any big demons to punch or whatever. We'll see how Season 3 plays out of course. Not that I don't like the Buffy finales either, it's just I remember it feeling pretty refreshing at the time that Angel was so willing to deviate from that formula.

My guess as to why we never saw any flashbacks of Qortoth is because computer generation was not as advanced as it is now. More practical sets would have probably been needed, but considering how horrible the dimension was to have been, no normal sets would have been able to evoke the right feelings.

Alley Box

oh yeah absolutely. which is why i was torn between wanting a flashback but also thinking that a flashback wouldnt do the other dimension justice and our imagination can go to town on how horrible of a hell dimension it mustve been

I would watch you react to a rewatch version of Cabin in the Woods, in case you were wondering. I love that movie.

There's actually a theory that the scientists in Cabin in the Woods IS Wolfram & Hart, containing an interesting bit about who were the monsters that came in the last shot of the movie...

Bd Blake

Side note: If you watch Stranger Things, Cabin in the Woods works as an unintentional sequel (no matter which season you stop watching on).

Vincent Kartheiser is a really underrated actor. He does well with what the writers give him. When they give him good stuff he can make me cry. I am interested to see Alley's journey with him. I like that she noticed his chemistry with David.

John Alexander

oh Alley... I'm sorry but you going on about toothpaste & deodorant was too precious... They were in a CRACK HOUSE & she is a HOMELESS CRACK HEAD. That place smelled like piss, vomit, sweat & blood.

John Alexander

lol, Connor journeyed across dimensions on a mission to finish Holtz work & kill Angel... only to be immediately waylaid macking on LITERALLY the first chick he meets.

Wonder if Hus has been to Quor'toth? Maybe he taught Connor the Ear thing.
