Yeah Wesleys arc is a slow burn, actually really well written. There were a lot of circumstances that needed to play out for Wesley to make the decisions he did, and it started with isolating him socially. He retreated from the group when Fred and Gunn started hiting it off (and after the misogyny demon affected him) and burried himself in books. Also it wasn't just a prophecy, it was a series of events that supported the prophecy to the extent that even Angel thought it was unsafe for him to be around Conner as he "smelled like food". It's a tragic arc, but the fact that it stirs and rattles everyones emotions to this extent shows how well written it is.

A prophecy is just a bunch of words until it actually comes to pass. People can try to predict the future, but they are just predicting. It's only a prophecy if it comes true.

Devin Nease

I'm just gonna throw this out there: I don't think you know what a twink is. A twink is a kind of a slur for a skinny effeminate gay man. Gru is definitely not that.

Steve Quast

I agree, the main thing Wes did wrong is he didn't tell everyone else about the prophecy. If he had, they could have all decided together what the best course of action would be. I understand where Wesley was coming from, but he handled it all wrong.

Carmen

Twink isn't a slur, it's slang. I also think Ally was referring to his ''look'' as in the pretty boy look, gelled up early 00's boyband hair. Body type wise? Sure, he'd be more of a twunk/hunk.

Wyatt

Twink is certainly not a slur, it's slang used within the LGBTQ community commonly. As mid twenties bi man with a husband I can confirm. And yeah, he's a twunk not a twink, too much muscle to be a twink.

Wyatt

Yeah he handled it wrong, but I see where he came from: Last time he read a prophecy that seemed unreasonable or unfair he told everyone and it blew up in his face for being wrong, so this time he resolved himself not to tell anyone anything until he had confirmed the validity.

Wyatt

Then of course, when he was DEAD certain it was unavoidable, he decided not to tell anyone because they would've stopped him from what he thought had to be done.

I watched the episode all the way through once, but seem to have trouble rewatching Gunn-centric episodes. Or at least the ones that have been posted on here so far. One exception though is his introduction in War Zone. I think the reason for this one is because I just don't care for the Gunn/Fred relationship.

Rue

Honestly, I feel the most sympathy for Wes in this whole fiasco. Yeah, he messed up - but it's definitely not the first time he has, or anyone else at Angel Investigations has, but for some reason they're acting like it's something new and different just because it's Angel's kid. If I was Angel, I would have been like 'you messed up, but your heart was in the right place' and leave it at that. >.<

You said Cordy was like "Don't worry, I didn't buy Connor anything" but you saw her holding a teddy bear when she came in... which made her happy return so much worse! Also the elderly demon couple looked like they'd just walked straight out of Whoville.

I mean generally speaking, messing up to the point that you get a baby killed, a friends baby especially, is pretty fucking bad and is NOWHERE near his previous fuck ups.

Israel

Think i would go with himbo for him, especially with not thinking the demon who came looking for Gunn was important. lol

Will

Oh how far Wes has fallen. From being one of my favorites to one of my least favorites. I have no sympathy for him for getting Angel's son kidnapped and not letting anyone know about it. I think Angel had every right to do what he did at the hospital. If someone got my child killed, I'd want to do that too.

G A

I have no sympathy either. Also I bet if someone took Wes' kid if the shoe was on the other foot, he'd do the same. He also chose to physically attack Lorne instead of telling him the truth. The prophecy wasn't even real, he went to someone that was dumb to trust. Maybe if he told everyone things would've been different. When you make the choice to kidnap and hide things (to the point of assault of a friend), and the baby get lost in a hell dimension, none of them owe Wesley a visit to hear his side. They don't owe him respect/trust he didn't show them. He may have been attacked by Justine, but he's not a victim, he willingly plotted with the enemy, and they usually double cross. Angel was a parent in shock. If he really wanted Wesley killed he probably could've gone back. He lashed out because his son was gone because of Wesley and its not like Angel can have Wesley arrested for kidnapping because cops wouldn't believe this.

Gosh, Cordy's subtle "I'm just here" to Angel is so wild compared to how she was in the beginning of Buffy. Also I couldn't help but feel like Fred's firm believe that of course Gunn wouldn't break up with her was very early Cordy like 😂

Paddy H-K

I really want to like Fred and Gunn, I really do, but every scene between them just makes me gag. It's just too much.

What I find even harder to believe than Gunn giving up his soul for a truck is the fact that he would seek help from a demon. Also when he was introduced he didn’t seem that, apart from vampires he was aware of other demons in LA and certainly not a gambling establishment full of them. It was apparent when he was introduced to Lorne and Caritas.

Joshua Gosdin

fun fact: Gunn sold his soul the same year Fred got pulled into Pylea: 1996. also the same year Buffy became the Slayer
