I know people are mad at Ethan (mostly cuz he’s getting in the way of their otp) but when you remember that Onyx thinks Keane is straighter than a ruler he’s actually giving very good advice! Falling for the straight bff is a gay trope for a reason. Kinda like crushing on a hot teacher in middle school, it’s something people often do before they’re ready to act on their feelings and have a real relationship because the other party isn’t actually available. Unless Onyx is Keanesexual only (which it doesn’t look like he considers himself to be) then it would actually be healthier for him to focus on guys who are interested than pining for someone he thinks isn’t. It’s not anyone’s fault that all us readers know more than the characters do. 😂
