Howdy guys!

I had a question, particularly regarding book 1 of morcster chef (but it applies to book 2 as well).

I wrote the novel in a very 'slice of life' style, where there was no huge overarching quest, but more like smaller events. Did that read... well, I suppose? Traditionally, books have a set goal they work towards. I'm a bit worried that it felt like nothing got accomplished.

So, really, I'm asking if you feel like Morcster Chef has a payoff for reading it. Do the characters feel like they got somewhere? Does it feel like the story progressed? Or is it kinda flat?

I ask because as I plot out the rest of Book 2 & 3, I want to make sure it reads in a way that everyone will enjoy.

Thanks all!

I primarily became interested in Morcster Chef as it was an interesting story of a wandering chef going on adventures to come up with new dishes and recipes.

I'd like more cooking than in the last arc, but otherwise I enjoyed the plot. I do like slice of life novels, but they tend to get lost and die far too often. I would like either version, though I think keeping the focus on cooking would be best.

Oh yeah the cooking won’t go anywhere! The last arc needs to be fixed and I need to add more cooking to it, that’s just a mistake ;) I just want to make sure the novel actually feels good to read without a major plot point to work towards.

Okay, great! That’s what I want to bring the book back towards, just wanted to make sure I was moving in the right direction.
