X1??????????? WHAT????? I'M CRYING!!! BYE

Lanz

oh... Haven't even watched the video, but I'm already teary-eyed oml- This was THE group that was to be, and they STILL hold records until now... then the company/mnet fucked up coz they got caught rigging certain aspects of the Produce 101 series (from the start afaik), hence their 5 month period as a group... TYSM for reacting to them Caitlin, never thought I'd see a reaction to what would've been my ult group~

NongPondZz

You did X1. so can you do IZ*ONE too please 🙏🏻🙏🏻

eve_ss

I'M CRYING 😭 Thank you so much for this Caitlin!! I MISS X1 SO MUCH 🥹 X1 Members: Seungwoo (leader of X1) - VICTON Seungyoun (WOODZ) - UNIQ (hiatus) ; active Soloist Wooseok - Up10tion (former) , soloist, actor Yohan (center of X1) - WEi , actor Hangyul - UNB (former) & BAE173 Junho - Drippin Dongpyo - Mirae Minhee - Cravity Hyeongjun - Cravity Eunsang - Younite Dohyun - BAE173 (former)

Devrim Akbaba

everytime i go back to x1 content i can't take my eyes from woodz i mean i know and love every one of the boys but he is the ult of my ults i just can't help it also can't wait to see you react to his new release before he enlists the track and mv is amazing

noturbusiness

someone who recommended this, I'm gonna find you 🫵🏻

kerene nyelele

There is minhee & hyeongjun from cravity, woodz, seungwoo from victon, do hyon and hangyul from bae173, junho from drippin, dogpyo from mirae, eu sang from younite, and wooseok is a solo and obviously Yohan from Wei

JA VI

OMG, X1 was my ideal line up. First time most of my picks made it in a produce group and well... you know how the story goes, lol. I own their album, is my personal treasure. Here you have Cravity's Minhee and Hyeongjun, Hangyul from BAE173 (and Dohyun who is an ex member), Yohan from WEi, WOODZ and Seungwoo from VICTON. These are the ones you probably recognize, but the rest of the group consist of Dongpyo from MIRAE, Eunsang from YOUNITE, Junho from DRIPPIN and Wooseok, a soloist (he was part of UP10TION too). Thank you for reacting to them, I love Flash with all my heart 🥹😭.

AD

They were too good such a strong lineup I will never forgive mnet for disbanding them😭😭😭

nea r

I miss them so much :( Never forgiving Mnet. So yeah for the members: Yohan debuted in WEi, Wooseok is a former member of UP10TION and now a soloist, Seungwoo is in VICTON, Hyeongjun and Minhee debuted in CRAVITY, Woodz you already know, Junho debuted in DRIPPIN, Dongpyo debuted in MIRAE, Eunsang debuted in YOUNITE and Hangyul and Dohyon debuted in BAE173. Dohyon has left the group since so only Hangyul participated in Peak Time but they both used to be in the group :)

an ♡

Oh this just made me cry oh my god 😭 Before i have zb1 i had x1 😭

M

Yeah, the moment I saw what happened with X1 (and also iz*one since it happened around same time) I told myself I would never get into survival groups but yes! They were going to be so hugs!!

M

also quick sidenote: once you said the background, I peeked and huh, is that the Reel Rejecte?? Lol

vip_insomnia

It's the crux of how good they all would have been if X1 could have stayed together but also then we wouldn't have had them in the groups/solos they are now. Like you had members from existing groups like VICTON and UP10TION (UNIQ as well but they had disbanded), so experienced hyung members who are all now soloists but we also have WEi, BAE173, DRIPPIN, MIRAE, CRAVITY, YOUNITE from the members and it's hard to imagine those groups with out the X1 members in them. Of course they would have been hugely successful in X1 instead of being in mid-low gen3/4 groups. So it's like I'm very angry with Mnet cause of what they did to these boy's careers but then I'm conflicted as a fan of their groups after.

Julian

a Kpop tragedy

jayunjin

X1 could be so big by now they were too good just look at their debut song.. as a produce stan it broke my heart like why mnet disbanding them💔 X1 still has a special place in my heart I cried Thank you for reacting to this🤍

Marly Barry

hangyul wasn't in unb. his teammate kijung debuted but hangyul didn't. he did promote one song with unb as a dancer tho

eve_ss

Oh yeah, you're right! I got excited and mistakenly added that one. Thanks!

Lauren Freeman

You are a thousand percent right about the kid from BAE143. Hangyul my baby 😭 I have been following him since he was on the unit. Which was the survival show from like 2017? 2018?

Adham Hassan

some information if you want to know :) Produce 101 (2016) = I.O.I (8m) Produce 101 S2 (2017) = Wanna One (1.5y) Produce 48 (2018) = IZ*ONE (2.5y) Produce X 101 (2019) = X1 (5m supposedly 5y) you can try check them all since they are all already disbanded. since the incident of voting manipulation Mnet try to rebrand the show. Girls Planet 999 = Kep1er (2.5y) Boys Planet = ZEROBASEONE (ZB1) (2.5y)

In the Studio Choom video at the bridge where you said you felt like crying seeing Woodz and Seungwoo in the middle, that's how I always feel when I go back to that particular moment. More than anyone else, the X1 hyung line (these too, and Wooseok - the guy in the centre during the second chorus) are who I really feel for. with how everything went down, although of course everyone had it rough. They've all been through this idol industry so many damn times, and they're all so talented but just didn't get the chance they should have. X1 should have been their breakthrough :( All the X1 members have remained close over the years, and still interact sometimes. Woodz and Seungwoo in particular did a brief interview a year or so ago where they talked about how difficult the whole X1 situation was on them, it's heartbreaking but also really nice to see that most of the guys have managed to land on their feet by now, thankfully.

X1 could have been the biggest 4th gen boygroup, like just with their debut they achieved and broke so many records, literally flash got 11 wins and they debut showcase was with like 20,000 spectators..is such a shame on what it turned out to be in comparison with iz*one that because of longer time were able to finish their 2.5 year contract. They were my obsession in 2019 ngl and up till this year they always get in in my Spotify wrapped lol

caitlinbenson

HAHA yes 😭 - they were the first reaction channel I ever watched 🤣 - I watched them daily!

Em

Man!!! Their debut EP was so good too :( It's such a shame that we won't ever hear how their sound could have evolved, I feel like produce groups (including boys/girls planet) always have very cool sound evolution (IZ*ONE is still one of the strongest girlgroups sound-wise imo), so it would have been so cool hearing what the second produce boygroup would have had 😔 I still remember crying in my kitchen when I heard the disbandment news - during that time IZ*ONE was also in the potential disbandment limbo so it was such a stressful time :// I really recommend you check out (on your own time probs) "Move" from X1's debut ep, it was an original song from pdx101 that they rerecorded and it slaps extremely hard - also, Hangyul (the guy from BAE173) and Woodz were in the original lineup for this song :D

Lunar

When I saw your Daily Drops post, I can't help recommended them. They are always my precious. It took me a long time to be able to watch Flash MV again after what happened. I'm happy to watch this again with you, Caitlin. Thank you so much.

2023-12-22 14:28:32 Soo good. Love your reaction as usual. Thanks for taking time out of your Holiday schedule to drop some music and hilarious reactions to shows! Soo sad that many of these groups don't get to realize their potential long enough, or get enough support from the entertainment companies they sign with to survive and thrive in tact! Em got me thinking about the groups of trainees from Boys Planet that debuted recently. It's really exciting to see the music they put out, and who is all together, but you can't help but worry about what sort of contracts they have and just hope that they all get to do what they love with who they like as long as they like! I've completely fallen in love with ONE PACT who just debuted three weeks ago... not just because Jay Chang is their main singer ( sang main vocals and adlibs in Love Me Right and Over Me in Boys Planet), but because Jongwoo -- that amazing dancer who had the killer intense performance from Stray Kid's Back Door, and dance breaks in Seventeen's Home and Hot Summer in BP -- was hand picked to be the leader and put together a team with exceptional talent. Unlike most rookie groups, ONE PACT is a permanent group and has been given creative input to produce their own songs too; which, thanks to TAG -- an innovative rapper, composer and producer formerly of CIIPHER and High School Rapper 4 -- the songs on this album are so addictively good (think K-R&B & soulful pop meets OG EDM vibes). Their debut MV "Must Be Nice" is such a vibe and an experience!
