This was one of their first concerts without Jessica, they were originally a 9 person group.

i remember watching this so many times and i am still emotional, thank you Cait!

They were all emotional and crying coz they lost Jessica before this event, she left the group, and all of them were sad about it,she had her reasons to leave . This moment is what they've dreamed of since they were trainees. Tokyo dome. 55,000+ people in attendance. SNSD's biggest concert to date. They were supposed to be complete. All 9 of them should have been there

This was a dream concert for all of them to be able to perform in Tokyo Dome so they're probably very overwhelmed by the support they got and very grateful with their fans. It was a big stage and they filled that! They finally made it and they did so amazing 🥹 but also it was a rough era for them because they just lost a member at that time so it was a very emotional time not only for the members but also for all of us fans. We're literally bawling when they performed this 😭 Anyways, thank you so much for this reaction! Really really appreciate it 🫶 still crying when I watch this again with you 😢 I actually requested this one on your post so I'm really happy that you reacted to it 🩷 Girls' Generation live stages never disappoints!

This wasn’t my first time seeing the video but I always crying while watching 😭

Into The New World is such a moving song in itself, and this version just kills me every time - especially when Sunny breaks. All the other comments already explained the context so I won't do that now, but yeah it's a very special performance for sone and snsd :')

there's few back stories on this, and why they're singing this version instead of the original one. Maybe Caitlin when you find some free time can do dig dive off screen about this group. They're amazing girls group ever!!!! I have been stanning them since debut and no regrets at all. P/S; only this year they start singing the original version again. *Much Love*

They were the 1st korean girl group to have a sold out Tokyo Dome concert so it really was a dream come true for them. Streets were saying that this was supposed to be Jessica's farewell concert. This is also a really special moment for us, Sones. I remember there was a live audio stream of this concert. We didn't know that they would sing a ballad version of ITNW so when we heard the intro, everyone on the stream and on Twitter just started bawling crying our eyes out. You can even hear the sound of fans crying through the stream. Me, personally, it took 2 years before I could watch this video without crying. It just hurts not seeing them as 9. But everything's okay now.

Thank you soooo much. As fan of SNSD and also the reason of how i discovered Kpop in 2013...I really appreciate this. I know that you are not taking requests..sorry.. but only if you don't know. Taeyeon release a new MV and mini album...is in the melancholy and sad side. Today she put the live video of the saddest and more beautiful song... she prepare 3 live clips (Dec 6, 8, 11 ) with the songs of the album....so sorry..is only if you are interested 🫣..hope you are doing fine...love U Cait..thanks ❤️

OMG I'm just now seeing this, I can't believe you reacted this, my Sone heart is so happy right now! For context: this was the first time they performed as an 8 member group after Jessica left the group shortly before this concert took place. This was their debut song that they practiced and performed for so long as 9 and also performing at Tokyo Dome was a big deal for them. This was supposed to be Jessica's last performance before she took an hiatus from the group but SM kicked her out for undisclosed reasons. You can see how the girls leave an empty space in the formation for the first part of the song, that's meant to be her place. So yeah, that's why everyone was super emotional during this concert.

Dont know whether this comment reaches you or not cause im 2 days late but from the point of view of a NOT SNSD fan, just a watcher on their journey, I’d like to talk ‘bout why this pfm is so emotional: 1. At that point, Jessica has an issue with SM and SNSD, and sha left not long before this concert (i remember about >1 month, not sure about the time) 2. Why this concert so special? Because it’s Tokyo Dome. When Kpop is not getting all over the world like nowadays, Todyo Dome is a Dream, very few artists are able to get there (To imagine, think of Coachella to Kpop groups at the moment, still, Tokyo Dome is still a dream nowadays but is kinda more accessible than at their time) So they tries hard to get there. It has always been their dream, Jessica and the whole group. But at the end, there they were, not as whole. You can see the first half of the song they kinda left a place ay the center, which is said to be for Jessica, but later they moved closer to e/o, meaning that they, from that moment, would continue without her. The circle they created later is quite an iconic posture of them in their concert, even more emotional (3. The leave of Jessica was controversial, there were RUMORS that she is isolated or there were also RUMORS about the group bonds, they kinda received a lot of criticism at that point, but they have made it to Tokyo Dome, SOLD OUT) The last thing is about the lyrics, they sang “I love you” a lot, to me its a goodbye to Jessica and also to their past as 9 and they still love her, and now they will get into a new world (without her, as 8)

And the song itself is very meaningful, full of hope and togetherness towards a brighter future. The original song is even somehow become the standard song for protests in Korea. Everytime i come across news about Korean protests I always hear this song playing in the crowd, etc especially for LGBT community
